Work, chores, sleep and repeat. A daily cycle most of us are all too familiar with.
Here at Ocean loans, we’re all about making your lives easier with our stress-free approach. And, to reflect our philosophy, we’ve teamed up with a handful of bloggers and given them the means to take the stress out of their everyday lives - without worrying about their finances.
Whether it’s a long soak in the bath or flicking through your favourite magazine, it doesn’t take much to reap the benefits of some all-important relaxation time.
If you’re craving some downtime but are stuck for ideas on what to do, put your feet up, make a brew and get yourself stuck into some of our relaxation tips.
1. Spring stroll
The weather’s on the up and nature’s taking a turn for the better, so get your walking gear on and soak up the great outdoors. You might want to take a wander by yourself to clear your head and cram in some alone time. The sounds of nature can be hugely relaxing, or you could listen to some calming music.
2. Pack a picnic
For a change, why not immerse yourself in the fresh air while you tuck into your lunch? This is another great way to catch-up with loved ones, have a laugh and wind down.
3. Get on the water
Whether it’s on a boat, kayak, canoe or simply just relaxing by a nice lake, there’s something ever so soothing about being by the water. Head down to your nearest lake or seaside and soak up the serenity!
4. Hop on your bike
The best thing about this is that you don’t even need to have a destination!. Just hop on your bike and see where the road takes you, but make sure you don’t get lost! Travelling by bike will allow you to venture much further afield too, so why not explore somewhere you’ve not been before?
5. Do some leisurely gardening
Get out in your garden and take in the beauty behind your back door while getting your outdoor space in tip-top shape. Putting your green fingers to work can be really therapeutic and seeing your plants grow and come to life is a rewarding way to invest your spare time.
There’s a whole bunch of different styles of yoga out there – hatha, iyengar, ashtanga, mysore, vinyasa, bikram and restorative yoga are just a few. Intensity and energy levels will vary depending on which type you go for, but there’s a lot of materials out there that suggest yoga is a great way to relax the body and mind.
And if the weather’s right, there’s nothing stopping you from taking your yoga practice outdoors. What better way to relax than showing off your downward-facing dog to the sound of birds and the wind rustling through the trees?
7. Pamper yourself
Book yourself in for a few treatments at your local salon. You’ll quite often find some super savings on Groupon, so it’s definitely worth a look.
You could even go DIY and set up your own at-home salon. Arm yourself with some candles, bath bombs, face packs and lotions, stock up your cupboards and settle in for the night with one of your favourite films – bliss!
