Can I apply for an Ocean Credit Card?
As long as you’re over 18 and a resident in mainland UK (including Northern Ireland), you can apply for the Ocean Credit Card. Whether or not you’re accepted will depend on numerous things – use our QuickCheck to see if you’re eligible before you apply. Using Quick Check won’t affect your credit rating.
I’ve a bad credit rating, can I still apply?
If you have bad credit, you may still be eligible for the Ocean Credit Card. We understand that everyone’s circumstances are different, and that’s why we’ll treat you as an individual. If we can help, we will.
Can it help me rebuild my credit rating?
The Ocean Credit Card can help you rebuild your credit rating as long as you meet your minimum monthly repayments on time and stay within your credit limit (not doing so could harm your credit rating). By doing this, you’ll be showing lenders that you can borrow money responsibly, which will be reflected in your credit history. If you meet your monthly repayments on time each month and stay within your credit limit, it could help you improve your credit rating.
I’ve been declined for credit before, does this mean Ocean will decline me?
Not necessarily. We’ll take all the information you give us and we’ll make a decision based on that, and the information we get from the credit reference agency.
What’s the credit limit?
The Ocean Credit Card comes with an easy to manage credit limit, from £200 to £1,500, so you can keep tighter control of your spending compared to credit cards that have much higher limits.
What information will you need to apply?
We’ll need a few personal details, including your address history for the last 2 years, employment status, and the length of time you’ve been with your bank.
