Check you’re eligible for an Ocean personal loan before you apply
(And it won’t affect your credit rating).
That’s right! You can now get a quote for a personal loan without it leaving a mark on your credit history.
What’s on offer?
Ocean is now offering personal loans starting from £1,000 up to £10,000*. These loans are available over one to four years, and you can use our calculator to get an idea of how much the loan you want will cost you each month.
In all cases, we’ll give you an instant decision on your application for a personal loan (44.9% APR Representative). And, as we said earlier, the quote we give you will not affect your credit rating. But why does this matter?
"Apply for a personal loan through Ocean and we’ll give you a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ - and it won’t affect your credit rating."
What could you get?
Every application for credit you make shows up on your credit history. This records all the credit agreements you’ve made over the last six years or more and how you’ve managed them.
For example, if you always make your loan or mortgage repayments on time, and make at least your credit card minimum payment each month, you should have built up a good credit history. But if, on the other hand, you’ve made payments late, missed them altogether, or picked up a County Court Judgement, you are likely to have a poor credit history.
Another thing that affects your credit history is the number of applications for credit you make. Each one leaves behind what’s known as a hard footprint. On it’s own, this mark doesn’t have much of an impact on your credit history – although it is visible to lenders. But several footprints recorded within a short space of time can set alarm bells ringing. Find out why here.
Keep applications to a minimum
So, you know it’s important to keep your applications for credit to a minimum. But how do you go about this? After all, how can you know whether your application will be accepted or turned down if you don’t know what a lender is looking for in a borrower?
Well, as it happens, it is possible to get an idea of whether you’ll be accepted.
For example, if you apply for a personal loan through Ocean, we’ll give you a ‘yes’ or ‘no’, and this won’t affect your credit rating.
Simply enter how much you want to borrow and how long you’d like to make repayments for, and we’ll give you an instant answer on whether you’ll be accepted (providing the information you’ve given us is correct). If you decide to go ahead with a formal application, you can do so knowing that we think you’re eligible.
If you know you’ll be accepted (subject to fraud and ID checks), it means you can apply with more confidence. So, if you’re looking for a personal loan, why not check to see if you’re eligible before you apply?
