If you’re bored of the same old chocolates, take a look at these weird and wonderful ways to count down this Christmas.

Cheese advent calendar

If you’re a cheese lover, you won’t want to miss this. On sale after Thu 15 Nov, you can find yours at Sainsbury’s, Asda or Booths. With 24 mini cheeses, including Wensleydale with gingerbread (nope, we’re not joking), you can get hold of one for a reasonable £8 in Asda and £10 in Sainsbury’s and Booths.

LEGO advent calendar

Whether you want to treat the kids or you’re just a big kid yourself, the LEGO calendar will keep you entertained until Christmas. There are three options to choose from – Star Wars, Lego City or Lego Friends – starting at £18.

There is a way to get your hands on yours for cheaper, though. If you sign up to Quidco, head over to their ‘£15 off Lego advent calendars page’ and you’ll get the £15 off sent back to your account.

Baileys advent calendar

If Baileys is your tipple of choice, you’ll love this advent calendar. With three Baileys miniatures and creamy Baileys truffles, this indulgent calendar will cost you £18.

Like Baileys but don’t like the cost? Check out this cheaper alternative from B&M for only £3.99.

12 Gins of Christmas advent calendar

Maybe you’re more of a gin fan? You can’t get much better value than this Aldi gin calendar at £34.99. Open the doors and you’ll find 12 mini bottles of gin, with names including Tanqueray and Gordons. Head to your nearest Aldi or order yours here.

25 Days of Christmas Candles advent calendar

You can find this beautiful calendar at Superdrug, where you can find a festive glass tealight behind each door in scents like spiced vanilla and chai. It was originally £24, but at the time of writing, has been reduced to a tempting £12.
