Here at Ocean, we’re all about helping people to achieve their dream home.
From re-tiling your bathroom to fitting a new kitchen, giving your living room a lick of paint or purchasing a new feature mirror, there are lots of little things you can do to help you give your home a makeover.
Our personal loans team have teamed up with 10 bloggers and challenged them to give a room in their house a makeover for £50 or less.
Now, £50 might not seem like much when it comes to revamping an entire room, but you’d be surprised at how far it could get you.
If your bathroom doesn’t have a colour theme, why not set one? Or if it already does, continue with the theme and invest in some bits and pieces to make your bathroom extra-special.
- Buy a matching toothbrush holder, soap dispenser and cup.
- Invest in a bathroom mat or shower curtain that matches your colour scheme.
- Think about storage – do you need somewhere to store your bottles and razors out of sight? You could consider a mirrored cabinet or some attractive storage boxes.
With endless accessories – both functional and decorative – there’s much more scope for improvement with your living room.
If you’re not happy with your sofa, instead of getting rid and buying a new one, you could simply invest in an eye-catching throw and matching cushions to make your sofa a feature of your living room.
Feature walls are also a great way to inject some love into your living room, and you don’t even have to go to the effort of re-papering or painting, either. There are various items you can use to create a feature wall: a large mirror or canvas, well accessorised shelves, a collection of framed photographs or a piece of stand-out wall art, to name just a few.
Accessory-wise, you’re spoilt for choice with your bedroom too. From wall art and lamp shades, to rugs and vases, there’s countless bits and pieces you can use to add some lovely finishing touches.
If your bedroom is tainted because you simply have too much stuff, just finding a nicely presented storage solution could open up your room and make a huge difference in itself.
