Application Developer

This new position within the IT department would suit a candidate eager to join our fast-paced IT Department, which is currently responsible for supporting the system, network and application development infrastructure for over 300 users.

Your main role will involve developing and supporting enterprise .NET applications in a multi-tiered environment. Your proven skills must include commercial experience of C#, SQL, ADO.NET XML and Windows Forms and ideally include some of Web Services, Windows Services, ASP.NET, VB, JavaScript and CSS. Your application must specifically identify when, where and for how long you have used each of these skills.

As you will be a member of a small development team you will be able to demonstrate strong experience in structured development techniques and be experienced in developing at all levels of a multi-tiered application. You will also have a clear understanding of the benefits, complexities and pitfalls of such an environment.

You will be able to design and execute test plans at all levels of the structure and be able to produce concise but clear system documentation.

Daily responsibilities for the Application Developer will include the following:

•Developing and supporting highly structured enterprise applications in a multi-tiered environment
•Working independently and with third-party developers to create a variety of web and client-server applications to enhance the user experience for both internal and external customers
•Consulting with project team members and providing technical expertise and guidance to project managers, third-party developers and QA testers to troubleshoot issues and analyze functional and technical requirements.
•Working with IT staff to install, upgrade, support and maintain the production, development and test environments
•Monitoring and troubleshooting application configuration and availability issues

The Application Developer job requirements also include:

•Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
•Excellent organizational skills with the ability to complete tasks in a reliable and timely manner
•Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with other employees and small groups
•Excellent ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
•Demonstrated ability and desire to work within a Team Driven environment while having the confidence to work independently. Reliance on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, and perform a variety of complicated tasks with a degree of creativity and latitude
•MCAD, MCSD, MCPD Certification a plus
•Visual Source Safe experience a plus
•Knowledge of Financial Industry a plus
